North Carolina Passes New Smoking Bans

We all know that more and more places are banning the use of tobacco products every day.  It's a sign of the times.  But, when the State of North Carolina, one of, if not THE, largest tobacco producing states in the US passes similar laws, we know that it's only a matter of time before you can only smoke outside… ANYWHERE… and even those places will be limited!

North Carolina's Gov Beverly Purdue signed the new bill into law on May 19th 2009 and it goes into effect on January 2nd, 2010.  The new ban will prohibit smoking in public bars and restaurants STATE WIDE.  Owners of the establishments will have NO say.  With the new law comes penalties and fines ranging from $50 to $200 for violations.  This is a very serious matter for smokers and business owners alike yet surprisingly, most still don't know about it!

With the new law going into effect very soon, both businesses and those who smoke in them will be looking for alternatives.  Alternatives that give them the closest thing to a cigarette possible without subjecting them to fines for violations.  It is on record that bars and restaurants in areas where similar laws have already taken effect have seen a loss of business because customers who smoke don't want to have to go outside for their fix.  So, I very highly recommend starting NOW if you are in one of the two groups of people who will be affected!  Business owners will want to offer or suggest alternative products to their customers and patrons will need the products to be available for them.  And, most aren't aware of some new and cutting edge products that are now available.  Just a few minutes of your time and a little reading can prepare you for January 2nd, 2010 when many places in North Carolina go SMOKE FREE.
